Alton, Illinois

Every loaf carries the weight of decades of deliberate craft.

We don't rush fermentation. We don't cut corners on ingredients. At The Renaissance X, baking is treated as a discipline — one that begins before dawn and ends only when the last batch is gone.

Rooted in Alton.
Built by hand.

The Renaissance X was born from a simple conviction: that a community deserves a bakery which treats every ingredient with intention and every customer like a neighbor. We opened our doors on Piasa Street with nothing but ovens, flour, and an stubborn refusal to compromise.

Today, we bake small-batch sourdough, laminate croissants by hand, and curate a selection of groceries that reflect the same standards we apply to our own oven. Everything we sell is something we would serve our own table.

Every item is produced in-house, in small batches, throughout the day. When it's gone, it's gone — and we bake again tomorrow.
